The Victory Center For Children with Autism Co-Founder, Barry A. Nelson, Receives Prestigious Edward Weisband Distinguished Alumni Award for Public Service from Binghamton University Alumni Association

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FL — The Victory Center For Children with Autism and Related Disabilities, in North Miami Beach, Florida is proud to announce that Barry Nelson, who along with his wife Judith Nelson, co-founded Victory, was honored for his outstanding career achievements and significant contributions to public service. The Nelsons received the award during the 2024 Special Recognitions Awards​ event held on May 1, 2024 at the prestigious Yale Club in Manhattan.

The Binghamton University Alumni Association announced that Barry A. Nelson, Esq., a distinguished alumnus of Binghamton University, was awarded the esteemed Edward Weisband Distinguished Alumni Award for Public Service or Contribution to Public Affairs.

 

The Edward Weisband Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exemplary dedication to public service or made significant contributions to public affairs. The Tau Alpha Upsilon fraternity nominated Barry and Judi for the award that recognizes their efforts on behalf of The Victory Center over the past 25 years with a shared vision of providing comprehensive support and education for children with autism and related disabilities. Through their unwavering dedication and tireless efforts, they have transformed countless lives, offering innovative programs and resources tailored to the unique needs of each individual. The Victory Center stands as a beacon of hope and empowerment, offering a nurturing environment where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Their passion for advocacy and commitment to inclusivity have left an indelible mark, inspiring positive change and fostering a more inclusive society for individuals with autism and related disabilities.

 

Upon receiving the award, Barry A. Nelson expressed his gratitude, saying, “Judi and I are honored to have been nominated by my Tau Fraternity brothers for the Edward Weisband Distinguished Alumni award for public service and selected by Binghamton University to receive the award this year in recognition of our efforts on behalf of The Victory Center. We enjoyed catching up with many friends at the May 1st Binghamton Alumni event in New York City.”

 

Binghamton University Alumni Association's Special Recognition Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements, social impact, and volunteer service of alumni to the University. The Alumni Association stated that Barry A. Nelson's dedication to public service and his tireless efforts to improve the lives of individuals with autism exemplify the values and spirit of Binghamton University.
